Trip to Jamshedpur

On 28th june I got another opportunity for a bike tour. A few days back I was informed that I would be sent for my refresher training at Jamshedpur. So I thought it would be better to take my bike there as I will be able to go on small trips on the weekends.

So on 28th morning at 4am I started my journey for Jamshedpur. I was expecting rain in the way so was prepared for it. Within half an hour or so, environment started to lighten up. I was heading straight for Kharagpur. Previously I was not sure which route to take after Kharagpur. Almost a year back I went to Jamshedpur on bike too. That experience was a bit extreme. Road construction was going on the mumbai road. There were numerous diversions, long stretches of single ways, dust, mud etc. I turned towards jhargram from lodhasuli and again joined the highway at dhalbhumgarh. That portion of road was very good.

But this time I decided to follow the highway all the way. I took a chance as I thought after this one year of work road should be good. So from Kharagpur I took the city roads. At this time it started to rain. I put on my rain gear and continued the journey. It was fun riding in heavy rain but I had to be careful of potholes. At nimpura I caught the highway again. Here a underpass construction was going on. And the rain had converted the dust into thick mud. So my bike became red in color due to splashing of mud.

From here I rode non stop. I didn’t even stopped for tea. Most of the roads were very good. It was newly constructed concrete road. A few diversions were there. A few stretch were bad in condition but overall it was good. I continued until I was needed to fill my gas tank. At a reliance petrol pump near Bahragora I stopped for petrol. The pump was just opening up in the morning so all the stuff were busy in daily chores. No one was free to make card transactions for payment. So around 15-20 minutes were wasted there. After that I started to ride again. Clouds cleared and sun was shining brightly. At near Ghatsila I finally stopped for tea.

I was progressing as planned so no need to hurry. I rested for some time drank two cups of tea, then started my bike again. Jamshedpur was not very far. In due time Dalma hill range were welcoming me from the horizon. After I reached Mango I entered Jamshedpur town. From there I need to look frequently in google maps to find my way. My mobile holder from AliExpress had not come yet. So it was a pain in the ass to navigate in these unknown roads. Anyway I finally reached Jamshedpur station. All my other friends who were coming to Jamshedpur for training by train had reached the station just in time. I joined them and reported at the training center at 10am sharp.
